Job description
A new and exciting food emporium in Skukuza is looking for passionate, talented barman. If you believe flaring is a form of theatre and working with people on a daily excites you, while working in one of the world’s most iconic national parks – with lions, leopards and elephants as your neighbours, this might just be your dream job.

Passion for the natural environment and concern for sustainability. Delivery of friendly, efficient Guest services, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all Guests. We are looking for a guest-orientated, charismatic barman with a sense of urgency and high attention to detail, to assist with managing Bar operations and Mini Bar Service on a day-to-day basis.

Minimum Experience or Qualification:

  • Matric certificate
  • Experience in similar role in a 4/5 star environment – 2 years minimum
  • Good understanding of Food and Beverage Knowledge
  • Cocktail, wine, spirits knowledge is crucial
  • Experience at operator level of a Point of Sales System – exposure to Micros advantageous
  • Experience at operator level of a Stock Management System beneficial
  • Highly presentable
  • Solid English verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in Service Recovery
  • Experience in mixology or sound beverage knowledge beneficial
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays

Key Performance Objectives:

  • Ensure that guest service is in accordance with Hotels and Leading Hotels of the World standards
  • Operating Equipment is correctly managed to ensure sufficient stock and minimal breakages
  • To ensure that beverage stock movement is correctly and accurately tracked;
  • To ensure end of service cash-ups and float management are completed in accordance with SOP
  • Co-ordinating special requests and extraordinary tasks in accordance with SOP
  • Ensure a guest satisfaction check of every guest within the outlet; dealing with any concerns and complaints in accordance with company service recovery guidelines; and by personally checking quality of both service and product on a continuous basis
  • Actively proposing promotional ideas on a regular basis as well as actively driving the sales and upselling culture of the restaurant to ensure an exceptional guest experience and the financial health of the business
  • Ensure that all guest enquires are responded in a timeous manner

Duties and Responsibilities include :

  • Stocking bars
  • Stock take of all beverage
  • Be guest focussed and create unique experience
  • Offer all the items available and service guest requests
  • Working in a neat and tidy environment
